Acolytes
Open to people of all ages, acolytes serve the congregation by helping the priests at the altar. They lead the procession of ministers by carrying the cross and the Gospel Book. They make sure the candles are lighted and the priest has what she needs to feed the people. They take the offering of the congregation to the priest for blessing and lead us out of worship into the world. They extinguish the candles at the end of the service. Contrarary to earlier times, acolytes in this church are not just little kids, but older youth and adults as well. Our acolytes have been trained by Ernie Houston, who serves as our head acolyte.
